Through her advocacy work, The Hon. Irene Addo strives to help Ghana’s public districts see the power of their voice and the boundless promise inside of them. Through speaking engagements and official appearances, she elevates public districts and citizens who have too often been ignored.
Below is a non-exhaustive list of her accomplishments as Head of DACF:
Administrator, District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), Ghana | 2017 – Present
Propose a formula annually for the distribution of the Common Fund for approval by Parliament;
Administer and distribute funds paid into the Common Fund among the District Assemblies in accordance with the formula approved by Parliament;
Report in writing to Parliament on how allocations made from the Common Fund to the District Assemblies have been utilised by the District Assemblies.
Monumental Achievements under Irene’s tenure as at 2025:
Provided funding for the construction of residential complex for Appeal Court judges in Kumasi;
Funded the construction of over 150 court buildings and bungalows across the country;
Funded the construction of three (3) storey office block complex for MMDAs across the country;
Funded the re-construction of Oda market complex and other small/medium size markets across the country;
Funded the construction of Local Government Service office block and Regional Co-ordinating Council new office complex;
Funded the expansion of infrastructure at Madina and Tamale campuses of the Institute of Local Government Studies (ILGS);
Funded the construction of the University of Local Governance and Development at Akomadan.
